GSMA will discuss the possibility of Mobile World Congress cancellation which could lead to 490 million euros loss

MWC is the telecoms industry’s biggest annual gathering with companies spending millions on stands taking place on Feb. 24 – 27.

The event is at risk due to corona virus outbreak which has killed more than 1,000 people so far in spite of GSMA regulations that all visitors from China will have to be quarantined for two weeks prior to the event, big players decided to stay away from the event such as, Amazon, Facebook, Ericsson, AT&T, LG, Intel, NVIDIA, Sony & more.

GSMA will decide today whether the event will take place or not, taking into consideration that it will be very difficult to reschedule the event with over 2,500 exhibitors and a projected 100,000 + attendees.
