Google’s Nevada new data center to be powered by 350 MW solar farm

Google have worked hard over the years to reduce carbon footprint in the operations, as they have been a carbon-neutral company since 2007.

In 2017, google became the first to match the annual electricity consumption with renewable energy and then they did it again in 2018.

Following Google strategy they will power $600 million state of the art new data center in Henderson, Nevada, near Las Vegas (expected to be operational by end of 2020) through the world’s biggest battery-backed solar system.

The project will consists of 350 MW of solar panels and as much as 280 MW of battery storage.
